On Thursday, May 10th 2012 Agata Galicka and Sarah Buttler attended the ReLocate Awards Gala Dinner in London as Pro-Link GLOBAL representatives. Pro-Link was proud to sponsor and present “The Green Achievement” award. For more information regarding the awards ceremony please click here. Agata Galicka commented on the evening below:

“The Relocate Awards Gala Dinner was well organized and staff at Relocate Magazine did a fantastic job ensuring all ran smoothly. Mr. Adrian Mills, a local TV celebrity, delightfully entertained us during the ceremony, and presented the Sponsors of the Awards whilst easily mastering the relocation ‘jargon’. The evening ended up being a pleasant mixture of a business meeting, family gathering and a cocktail party!

During the evening I saw a lot of familiar faces from the relocation industry; I was happy to refresh my contacts and catch up on all the industry news (and of course gossip a bit). I also had a chance to make new connections, thrilled to have the opportunity to talk about PLG to the UK relocation crowd. After the excitement of announcing the awards, the winners had their photos taken with the Sponsor of the category. Next, as all the ‘secrets’ of the evening were uncovered, everyone had a chance to relax and enjoy a nice glass of wine while chatting lively and listening to live jazz music.

I was pleased I could attend the Relocate Awards dinner for 2 reasons. First, I was proud to be representing Pro-Link GLOBAL at such event during my first month of being with the Company- really a wonderful opportunity! Second, that I could present the first Green Achievement Award to a Company that was very excited about their green practice and felt like their efforts have been noticed and appreciated.”

Relocate magazine also issued a statement regarding the green achievement award below:

“The Green Achievement award recognises a company or organisation that has excelled in environmental initiatives and practices.

Said Agata Galicka, of category sponsor Pro-Link GLOBAL, “We sponsored this category because green initiatives are very important to us. We have a paperless office, and the majority of our staff work from home.”

The judges found that both shortlisted companies had put in place some very good environmental initiatives, which could be shared across the sector to help instil best practice across the industry.

HCR Group was the overall winner for its commitment to managing environmental impacts and its innovative ways of engaging customers on environmental issues – for example, the Sustainable Relocation Promise, which involves planting a tree for every corporate relocation the company manages. It was also the first relocation management company to achieve carbon neutral status.

The group, said the judges, also shines in terms of how it is seeking to influence best environmental practice within the industry and through its supply chain. This is a good example of leadership, and highlights that ‘green’ can lead to better outcomes for the triple bottom line – people, the planet, and profit.

Collecting the award on behalf of HCR, George Dawes said, “HCR has been carbon neutral for 18 months. Protecting the environment is at the forefront of our thinking and our business plan.”

The Ascott Limited was Highly Commended for a very well-rounded entry showing a significant rapid increase in focus on environmental initiatives and achievements.

Commented Rebecca Hollants van Loocke, who collected the trophy, “We have a huge commitment to going green. All our employees have made great individual efforts to save the planet and make the world a better place for all of us.”
