For Christmas 2013, we decided as a family to do a small toy drive for the kids on the cancer floor at Phoenix Children’s Hospital. My great niece Izabella has been on that floor since she was born, on July 22nd, and we did this toy drive in her name. It was very heart breaking and also inspirational to see all the beautiful children and their strength to live. We knew many of them would be spending Christmas in the hospital and for some this would be their last Christmas. So we wanted to do something that would bring a smile to their face and for them to know people cared and prayed for them. So we sent out emails, text messages and posted all over Facebook about Bella’s Toy Drive. We ended up raising over $700 worth of toys and was able to give every child a bag full of toys on Christmas Eve 2013. It was very emotional and their joy made every minute worth it. It was one of the best things I’ve ever been a part of and decided to make it a yearly tradition!- Emily Rubio
