The immigration authorities of the Netherlands have today published information on the new migration policy (Modern Migration Policy), scheduled to become effective 1 January 2011.

The Dutch Lower House and the Dutch Upper House adopted the bill on 16 February 2010 and 5 July 2010, respectively.

This legislation will change the rights and obligations of both the person who has someone come over to theNetherlands as well as the person who is coming to the Netherlands. This legislation will have consequences for Pro-Link GLOBAL’s clients. The changes will apply to applications to be submitted on or after 1 July 2010.

Information directly from the Netherlands immigration authorities can be found here, and, of course, Pro-Link GLOBAL will be reviewing the announcement in detail and will shortly be issuing a Global Brief with full information on how the changes will affect our clients.
